It was said that in the beginning there was nothing, and from this void merged Rhian. Rhian was the most perfect of beings. She created the stars to cascade down each strand of her hair to illuminate her presence. She created the sun to be her brilliant throne. Rhian wandered the void bringing with her the light of her throne and the awe of the endless night in her hair. Rhian is the creator of the universe and mother to Tyrin and Syrin, forever striving for balance between her two sons. Although no group is exclusively devoted to her, she has many clerics scattered throughout the realm, and has influenced the activities of Dawning.
Tyrin is the elder son of Rhian, the mother goddess. It is said he emerged from a tapestry woven from Rhian's hair. Tyrin was an honest, open being who thirsted for knowledge and was happiest to make his mother proud. Tyrin created the moon for his mother, a gift for her to gaze upon her reflection. He then created the earth, bringing to it first the land, sea, and sky and then inhabiting it with animals. It was Tyrin who cursed Kiyanne to a life of forever being hunted for what he was. Vampires, along ith werecreatures and lichnee, are loathsome to Tyrin, and his most zealous ervants have banded together into Covenance.
Syrin is the younger son of Rhian, and is the god of change and decay. Syrin changed the Firsts into the forebears of the races we know today, and is special patron to the Lichnee. The Church of Syrin is dedicated to advancing his cause in the world, and he maintains an avatar, Suqlaheru, to make his will known to the world. Lichnee, by the will of Syrin, are forbidden from seeking Dawning and Covenance holds them in disdain. Also, Gypsy consider all undead (including lichnee) to be anathema, and will not permit lichnee around the fires.
