I've been mudding for a number of years, the majority of which were spent on the administrative end of things deciding policy, handling staffing issues, and doing technical support for the builders on various other muds. I have spent my fair share of years at Dark Risings as well, and most recently I've taken up the post of helping out with some of the smaller day-to-day things on the mud such as updating helpfiles, providing builder technical support, light coding, and taking care of issues as they come up. My past years as a dev admin elsewhere also sometimes bleed out, though, and I do my best to offer new ideas, areas of improvement, and anything else I can to make Dark Risings the best mud it can be.

Outside of mudding, I am a researcher in the field of solid state physics. I do a lot of computational modelling and simulation work on glass and glass-crystal systems (which has me sitting in front of anywhere between 2 and 5 computers at any given time), and I also do some light programming and computer maintenance around the labs. Since it seems to be a popular theme among these profiles, I'll also mention that my past jobs have included constructing equipment for oxide-vapor quenching plasma research and working with new nanoparticle synthesis methods. It's an interesting field, and I'll likely spend the rest of my life in it.

When I'm not so wrapped up with the above nonsense, I enjoy reading the day's paper, planning out the future, and getting a good night's rest.
