Latelog

When you log on, you must wait 3 minutes before you can engage in a PK, as stated in the rules. Before those 3 minutes have elapsed, you are in "latelog". There is a latelog timer available to be put in your prompt (see help prompt), but it should be considered a convenience only, since there have been reports of it falsely reading that you are out of latelog when in fact you still have some time left to wait. If the prompt reads LATELOG then you are definitely still IN latelog, but don't trust it when it says your 3 minutes are up. The exact second you logged on is recorded in the logs and the exact second that a latelog attack occurs is also recorded. If the logs say you had even one second left to wait, then you will be punished for violating the latelog rule. The best advice we can give is to wait 4 minutes by your clock before attacking or stealing to make sure you don't get slain or lose eq because of a few seconds. Our logs (as reflected by wiznet alerts) are the final authority in disputes about latelog times. Don't get bit.
