Citanul

The Life of a Wanderer

This is an account of the life of Citanul, The Wanderer. Little is known of this chaotic mage, except for what is told of in his diary, and some rumors held by the local gossips. Here is the best of what anyone could put together.

Exerpts from Citanul's diary-

'Ahhhhh!' ran though my mind. All I could remember was terror. It ran through my mind like a charging boar. And as soon as it started, it stopped. I felt a brisk breeze run across my face, and the heat of a midday sun upon my cheek. I opened my eyes slowly, letting them adjust to the brightness of my surroundings. I tried to pick myself up, only to fall back again, for every part of my body ached when moved. As I peered closer at my surroundings, it became obvious that I was in a desert. It was not the sand, or the blistering sun that made it obvious. It was the squawks of the buzzards, ready for an afternoon meal.

As I tried to recall what had happened, but with no avail. My mind was a total blank. I tried to remember my childhood, my years of academy, but it wasnt there. Just bits and pieces of memories. I realized I could not dwell on a past I could not remember, at least not right now. Once the pain in my muscles subsided, I was able to take a stance and survey the landscape. With my first step, the nearby buzzards squawked with dismay that I had denied them lunch.

My heart began to sink as I realized I was, beyond a doubt, in the middle of a very large, hot desert. As I searched my person, I found very few things. I had my tunic, a stick worthy enough to be called a staff, and a book. Which I soon designated as my diary. I would keep track of my days upon the desert, and maybe learn something in the process.

Entry dated day 39-

Its been 39 days now. Ive been able to use what I remember of my Magiks to retain life. I have walked approximately 3 miles every day. Still the only thing in sight is sand. I can only hope I find a welcoming town soon.

Entry dated day 45-

I have discovered a most interesting species of creature today. I came across it while walking, when it suddenly broke through the ground and attempted to eat me. I was able to stun the creature and examine it fully. A giant worm-like creature is what it appears to be. Tough tooth-like projectiles stick out on all sides, and has a veritable cave of razor-sharp teeth!

Entry dated day 12-

I,,,,have,,been wandering,,for,,,,some time,,now. I can, almost,, make out,, a town

Rumors and Gossip- Now its rumored that Citanul was rescued by the gods. Others say a mortal man found the mage and carried him to his home. Nothing is certain. But what we do know is that he found his way to the great city of Arinock. There he made quiet an impression on the mayor, Felonious. But although he was offered a settlement near the town, his soul couldnt be tamed. He had to travel, had to Wander.

It is said he wandered for several years. Enough that his magiks grew to a great, and awe-inspiring level. Upon return to the city of Arinock, he joined the Grail, followers of Preglion. But that didnt last long either. He couldnt stay put for time period great then a day. And when it finally got to him, he broke the boundaries he was allowed, and killed a villain know for terrorizing citizens. Some saw this act as heroic. But the Grail demised it, and he was soon discharged.

Now he wanders. His place can never be pinpointed for long. You can often see him visiting the river that flows near that awful desert he spent so many days in.
