The great drow city of Har'oloth may be found through a hidden tunnel in
the Dwarf forest. Entirely underground, the city is lit by magical and
beautiful creations of faerie fire. To keen drow eyes, which have no
difficulty making out the infrared spectrum, the patterns of heat give off
ample light. As starkly beautiful as the city is, however, so are its
inhabitants as cruel and ambitious. The drow are dedicated to the Spider
Queen, Lloth, who demands sacrifices of blood to remain in Her dark favour.
The matriarchal society is based solely on power, with familial ties
existing only for the sake of gaining ascendance within the city's political
structures. The current First House of Har'oloth is House Z'ress, but every
other House plots against them and each other, and only Lloth knows where
her fickle favour next may rest. |
